Arrest of the alleged perpetrators of a gang rape of a foreign national

Following intense investigations, the Rabat police services have arrested three individuals with criminal records for their alleged involvement in the gang rape of a foreign national holding the nationality of an East Asian country, it was learned on Wednesday from a police source.

The three individuals, aged between 22 and 25, had kidnapped two foreign nationals on Sunday around 9:00 PM in the suburbs of Rabat, before taking them to an uninhabited area where they raped one of them under the threat of robbery with violence, the same source indicates.

Field investigations as well as technical analyses and expertise led to the identification and arrest of the three suspects, who were placed at the disposal of the public prosecutor at the Rabat Court of Appeal for investigation.

The investigation also showed that two of the three suspects have been the subject of a national search warrant since mid-December for their alleged involvement in a similar case of kidnapping, rape, and sequestration with aggravated robbery. Furthermore, one of the arrested suspects had just been released from prison.
