The OPM (Philharmonic Orchestra of Morocco) is offering two exceptional and free concerts for the Fête de la Musique.
True to its role as a cultural vector, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Morocco (OPM) will close its 18th musical season with two free concerts, held on 18 June in Casablanca and 20 June in Rabat for the Fête de la Musique.
Through these free performances, which are open to all, the orchestra wishes to reach every audience. It therefore offers a musical programme adapted for "non-expert" spectators: opera overtures, well-known arias, fusion with Arab-Andalusian music airs, and more.
For this 6th edition of the Fête de la Musique, the OPM once again offers a wide choice of repertoires, varying between classical and romantic. Several composers will be honoured in this rich and festive programme: Brahms, Saint-Saëns, and Berlioz. It is an opportunity to close this exceptional musical season to the rhythms of dance music from around the world.
The 80 musicians of the OPM will be conducted by Laurent Noguès. Admission to the concerts is free, subject to availability. (Free tickets must be collected from the usual points of sale, see page 3).
This project to democratise classical music allows audiences who are distant from culture (notably for social reasons) to access music. It perfectly meets the association's vocation: to help the greatest number of people discover classical music. This project was initially initiated by the CDG Foundation.
